Hello Friends Family!
Mid-July mood: heat, smoke, & thunderstorms... Quite a combo, wouldn't you say?! I couldn't believe how reduced the visibility was at times. Let's pray for Canada, the vulnerable, and others experiencing these things in other places.
I'm currently sitting on my porch, thankful that the smoke is dissipating and enjoying the hummingbird visiting my Zinnia jungle. Little thing was a bit stressed - she got interrupted by a bee, a butterfly, and another bossy hummingbird who must have forgotten there are about 200 more blooms to visit. Watching her, I marvel at that gorgeous green God her and the intricacy of her tininess to do the amazing thing she does - flitting from flower to flower with such precision. God's design is just amazing!
And even more amazing than that little creature - us!
We are fearfully and wonderfully made... always on God's mind... (Psalm 139), so valuable that He gave His Son for our rescue (John 3:16).
There's never not a time that we do not need to be reminded of that. The enemy of our souls stalks to accuse, shame, & lie to us mercilessly.
Yet we remember Jesus's provision... His sacrificial substitution... His resurrection... His conquering for all time and eternity, death and its dealer... and His giving the Holy Spirit, not leaving us as orphans.
I pray you are encouraged, yet again, that the Creator of the Universe loves you and me that much. The little things and big things that make up the daily grind of living this life can cloud our understanding of the gift we get to live: Forgiven, Free, & Forever The Lord's.
